SIT Nagpur ACM Student Chapter and Technical Club has organized its very first event “CodeHunt" on October 8th 2022 for students of SIT, Nagpur. CodeHunt presented some amazing opportunities among students to showcase and also hone their coding skills, and to learn more skills. The event received overwhelming response from the students and they enjoyed the event a lot. The feedback from the participants displayed that the event was well planned and executed by the organizers, it was also suggested to conduct such events frequently.

Objectives Make student aware about the latest tools and techniques used in industry and make them familiar with the requirement of the professional world.

SIT Nagpur ACM Student Chapter and Technical Club has organized a Peer-to-Peer workshop on Intro to Full Stack Development on 26-11-2022 from 12:00 pm onwards. Students of 2nd year Prathmesh Yadav and Vedant Bhoyar under the mentorship of Dr. Sagarkumar S. Badhiye and Er. Muktinath Vishwakarma talked about the scope of the field and also introduced the participants to the basics of the languages of web HTML and CSS from scratch.

The event was organized to make the students able to utilize coding and software tools to analyze and present data in a professional manner that could be translated to web-based or app-based media. This workshop helped the students prepare for the next technical event on Web Development which will be announced soon. The response from students was overwhelming and students suggested to organize more such workshops under the Technical Club.

Objectives

SIT Nagpur ACM Student Chapter and Technical Club has organized CompiKode 1.0 on 19-11-2022 from 12:00 noon onwards. Students from 1st and 2nd year participated to showcase their competitive programming skills. Total 41 Teams consisting of 3 members each participated in the event. The event was organized by keeping in mind the competitive programming skills required by a budding software engineers. It helped students to get acquainted with the conceptual problems and test case based solutions on them.

SIT Nagpur ACM Student Chapter and Technical Club has organized Technical Talk by Mr. Ketan Paithankar, Co-Founder, Konverge.AI, Nagpur on 12-11-2022 from 11:30 am onwards. Mr. Ketan Paithankar, in his talk made students aware about the importance of AI and ML in the various field of Information Technology and also shared his experience of participating in various events in his college days that helped him to build a career as an Entrepreneur in AI. The response from students was overwhelming and students suggested to organize more such talks under the Technical Club.

Objectives To develop awareness about the company, culture and people.

On 11th February 2023, a quiz competition named "A Code Quiz" was organized on the topic of tech company, its culture and people. A total of 36 students participated in the competition, and they were divided into 12 teams randomly, with each team consisting of three members.

The quiz competition was conducted in three rounds. The first two rounds were held on the Kahoot app, which is a popular game-based learning platform. The questions in these two rounds were multiple-choice, and the teams had to answer as many questions as possible within a given time frame. From these two rounds, the top four teams with the highest scores advanced to the final round.

The final round was held in three rounds, and it was a live buzzer round. The teams were asked questions, and they had to answer them as quickly as possible. The team that gave the wrong answer was eliminated, and the remaining teams continued to the next round. This process was repeated until only one team was left, which was declared the winner.

Winners

The winning team of the "A Code Quiz" competition was "Binary Beasts”, which has Saurav Dhait, Aanchal and Akshat Duggal as team members, who answered the most questions correctly and emerged as the clear winner. They were awarded the first prize, which included a trophy and certificate.

The second prize was awarded to "Wo Wali Team", which has Aditya Nitalla, Aman Agrawal and Pranita Kumari as team members, who also performed well in the competition and came very close to winning. They received a trophy and a certificate as well.

Conclusion

The "A Code Quiz" competition was a great success, and all the participants showed enthusiasm and interest in the topic of the quiz. The competition was an excellent opportunity for the students to showcase their knowledge and understanding of the tech company, its culture, and people. The quiz format was engaging and challenging, which made it exciting for both the participants and the audience. Overall, the competition was a fun and educational experience for everyone involved.

Event Name: Expert Lecture on Cloud Computing

Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Nagpur has commenced the new semester of the current academic year with an informative session on Cloud Computing on 1st April 2022. The Expert Speaker for this session was Dr Mukesh Raghuwanshi, Director SIT Nagpur.The aim of this guest lecture is to equip students with the theories and practices of Cloud Computing. The esteemed speaker enlightened the students of Computer Science and Engineering about the concept, need, resources and practices available in the area of Cloud Computing. The students and teaching staff were greatly benefited by this excellent session.

On 30th April 2022 Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Nagpur has organized a guest lecture on ‘Lateral Thinking’. To nurture innovation and creativity in future Engineers, the lecture was conducted for the students of B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering of academic year 2021-25. Mr. Nishant Nikam was the expert speaker for this session. Students and teachers of SIT attended the lecture with enthusiasm and found it informative.

The ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Govind Negi, Senior Director- Talent Management & Delivery Centre Lead 3Pillar Global, Dr. Mukesh Raghuwanshi sir, Director, SIT Nagpur. Session was very interactive students gained knowledge of industry culture, tradition, career as software engineer in IT industry, students got acquainted about the qualities of good leader.

As a leading technological institute, Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Nagpur has the vision to train and guide the students for skills and development along with their academic learning. In this focus SIT Nagpur organized a skill development session for the B. Tech Computer Science and Engineering Students of Batch 2021-2025 on 12th February 2022. The prime purpose of the session was to train students for an International connect. The session was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Tauseef Zia Siddqui, an Industry Professional and Success Coach from Qatar, Dr. Mukesh Raghuwanshi, Director, SIT Nagpur. As an employability professional the resource person introduced students with Suslence Research and various International platforms for employability. The students attended and found the Session motivating and full of knowledge. The students got the idea about the importance of employability skills in career advancement.
