Rules for Refund of Fees

Refund Rules Overview

It applies to Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Doctoral, Diploma, and Certificate programmes. It is in force from Academic Year 2025–26 and subsequent years until UGC issues revised rules.

Cancellation / Withdrawal of Admission

  • A student must apply for cancellation of admission in the prescribed format to the concerned Constituent / Department.
  • After due procedure, the Constituent / Department shall cancel admission and refund eligible fees within 15 days from the date of application.
  • Admission may be cancelled in cases such as non-payment of fees for more than one semester or non-reporting for more than 30 days without prior written intimation.

Important Refund Notes:

  • Hostel and mess fees will be deducted proportionately (pro-rata basis) for the period during which the student has used hostel and mess facilities.
  • After 31st October, no refund will be made for hostel and mess fees.
  • Insurance premium is non-refundable.
  • Refund will be transferred to the same bank account provided during the online admission cancellation process.
  • Incorrect bank information may delay refund processing.

Refund for Admissions Beyond / After 31 October

If admission schedule extends beyond 31 October, the following UGC-based refund pattern should be displayed:
