Dr. Sudhanshu Maurya

Dr. Sudhanshu Maurya is Incharge of Research Cell. He is an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Nagpur.

He has completed his Post-Doctoral Research at the School of Computer & Communication Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Kangar, Perlis, Malaysia. He is also associated with the Center of Artificial Intelligence & Robotics, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi, for research on AI-based Quantum Cryptographic Techniques.

Dr. Maurya has completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science, with a particular focus on the “Security and Privacy aspect of Mobile Cloud Computing.” He acquired M. Tech CSE (Gold Medalist) from Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal Central University, Uttarakhand.

His area of research is dedicated to Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Everything, and Cloud Computing. Currently, he has two international Patents (Granted), 13 Indian patents, two edited books, five-course books, and authored/co-authored more than a hundred research papers indexed in Web of Science / SCOPUS.

He is also associated with the Centre of Artificial Intelligence & Robotics, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi, for research on AI-based Quantum Cryptographic Techniques.

This cell fosters various research activities for faculty members, doctoral scholars, and students. We promote research-based activities to address new and challenging problems in research and society. The cell actively collaborates with distinct researchers from various fields like Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, Deep Learning, High Performance Computing, Parallel Computing, Natural Language Processing, Security and Cyber security, Internet of Things, Data Science, Computer Vision, Embedded Systems, VLSI, Signal and Image Processing, Nanotechnology and Nanoscience, Blockchain Technology, Drones, Network Security, Biomedical image processing, Signal processing, Cloud, Fog & Edge Computing and so on.

  1. Five Days (Hybrid) Faculty Development Program on High-Performance Computing

Five Days (Hybrid) Faculty Development Program on High-Performance Computing in collaboration with NVIDIA & STLRC was organized from Dec 11-15, 2023. 100+ participants from various universities and institutes attended the FDP. Distinguished guest and resource person was Dr. Nilesh Chandra Pikle, Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Nagpur.

The convenor of this FDP was Prof. (Dr.) Nitin Rakesh, Director of Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Nagpur. The joint coordinators of this FDP were Dr. Pradnya Borkar and Dr. Sagarkumar Badhiye, assistant professors at Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Nagpur.

Objectives of the Event:

  • To introduce parallel computing fundamentals, including parallel architectures, programming models, and commonly used parallel programming constructs/libraries/languages.
  • To deliver hands-on sessions to provide experience applying HPC tools on CPU and GPU platforms.
  • To help faculties to include HPC courses in the curriculum.

Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Nagpur, Welcomes Prof. Dr. Rajkumar Buyya, Director, Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems (CLOUDS) Lab, The University of Melbourne, Australia. He is CEO of Manjrasoft Pvt Ltd, Melbourne, Australia, for Interaction and guest lecture with Students and Faculty members in Neoteric Frontiers in Cloud, Edge, and Quantum Computing from 13th to 15th Jan 2024.

Dr. Rajkumar Buyya is a Redmond Barry Distinguished Professor and Director of the Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems (CLOUDS) Laboratory at the University of Melbourne, Australia. He is also serving as the founding CEO of Manjrasoft, a spin-off company at the University, commercializing its innovations in cloud computing. He has authored over.

Eight hundred fifty publications and seven textbooks, including "Mastering Cloud Computing," published by McGraw Hill, China Machine Press, and Morgan Kaufmann for Indian, Chinese, and international markets, respectively. Dr. Buyya is a highly cited computer science and software engineering author worldwide (h-index=162, g-index=360, and 142,800+ citations). He has been recognized as a "Web of Science Highly Cited Researcher" seven times since 2016, "Best of the World" twice for research fields (in Computing Systems in 2019 and Software Systems in 2021/2022/2023) as well as "Lifetime Achiever" and "Superstar of Research" in "Engineering and Computer Science" discipline twice (2019 and 2021) by the Australian Research Review.

Software technologies for Grid, Cloud, and Fog computing developed under Dr.Buyya's leadership have gained rapid acceptance and are used at several academic institutions and commercial enterprises in 50+ countries worldwide. Manjrasoft's Aneka Cloud technology, developed under his leadership, has received the "Frost New Product Innovation Award." He served as the founding Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing. He is currently serving as Editor-in-Chief of Software: Practice and Experience, a long-standing journal in the field established 50+ years ago. He has presented over 700 invited talks (keynotes, tutorials, and seminars) on his vision of IT Futures, Advanced Computing technologies, and Spiritual Science at international conferences and institutions in Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America. He has recently been recognized as a Fellow of the Academy of Europe.
