Quality Improvement Cell (QIC)

Dr. Poorva Agrawal obtained her PhD degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune, India in 2020. She obtained her M.Tech degree in Computer Science and Engineering from SGSITS, Indore, India in 2012. She has been engaged in research and teaching for more than 15 years. At present she is working as Senior Assistant Professor in CSE Department at Symbiosis Institute of Technology Nagpur, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) Pune, MH, India. She has presented more than 50 papers in International/National Journals/ Conferences. She has published few books and published a patent. She has been granted a project worth Rs. 1,50,000 entitled as “Exploring the Effectiveness of Nature- based Solutions for Improving the Heat Stress situation in Chandrapur region of Maharashtra, India”. Her research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Image Processing, and Computer Vision.

Description of the QIC:

The Quality Improvement Cell is established for planning, guiding, and monitoring the quality assurance and enhancement activities of the institute.


Objectives of QIC

  • To improve academic and administrative excellence by institutionalizing a culture of quality.
  • To promote and implement quality improvement measures in the key performance areas through planned interventions and strategies.
  • To develop a standard procedure and methodology for every quality initiative.
  • To coordinate and document all the quality initiatives and ensure their effective implementation.

Faculty Development Program on Outcome-Based Education & Accreditation

Date: 4th March – 8th March 2024

Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Nagpur, in collaboration with the Symbiosis Teaching and Learning Resource Centre (SIU) and NITTTR Chandigarh, organized a five-day Faculty Development Program on Outcome-Based Education & Accreditation. This initiative aimed to equip faculty members with student-centric teaching methodologies, effective curriculum design, and robust assessment techniques aligned with NBA and NAAC accreditation frameworks, enhancing the overall quality of education.

Faculty Certification in Accreditation and Outcome-Based Education through NPTEL

Duration: August – October 2024 (8-Week Course)

Faculty members successfully completed the NPTEL Faculty Development Program on Accreditation and Outcome-Based Education, certified by IIT Kharagpur. This course provided in-depth knowledge on accreditation frameworks, curriculum development, and assessment methodologies, enhancing faculty expertise in implementing quality education practices.

Faculty Potluck Lunch – A Celebration of Togetherness

The Quality Improvement Cell (QIC) organized a Potluck Lunch for the faculty members of SIT Nagpur, fostering camaraderie and strengthening professional bonds over a shared meal. This event provided an informal platform for faculty members to connect and unwind, enhancing teamwork and collaboration.
