Ph. D. (Mathematics)
Dr. P. D. Shobhane is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics
at Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Nagpur. Dr. Shobhane has authored four
textbooks in mathematics, namely Engineering Mathematics (11th Edition, 2023),
Engineering Mathematics – Vol. I (2018), Modern Algebra (1994), and
Differential Calculus (1994). His academic contributions include various
research papers published in national and international journals (including
SCI, SCOPUS, and Web of Science indexed journals) and many papers presented at national
and international conferences. He received a travel grant from AICTE in 2010 to
attend the International Conference on Mathematical Sciences (ICMS-2010) held
at Bolu, Turkey.
He has played key roles in academic leadership and
curriculum development, serving as Chairperson and Member for various syllabus
redesigning workshops and orientation programs. Dr. Shobhane has also
contributed extensively to academic event organization, serving as convener for
intercollegiate mathematical competitions such as Mathematica and Sankhya and
as a core or organizing committee member for national symposia, workshops, and
colloquia.
In addition, he has organized and coordinated several STTPs
and faculty development programs, including workshops on Cognitive Internet of
Things with Mathematical Modelling, Discrete Mathematics and Graph Theory using
Python and SageMath, and strategies for improving university examination
results in Applied Mathematics.
