The Aagman 2025 induction program commenced with a grand inauguration ceremony held at the SIU Nagpur auditorium. The ceremony was graced by Dr. Nitin Rakesh, Director, SIT Nagpur, whose presence set a strong academic and professional tone for the program. Students were guided to understand the institutional framework, academic expectations, and the importance of discipline and integrity in their engineering journey.
The inaugural ceremony was further enriched by the presence of Ms. Shilpa Mahajani, Campus Relations – West & Central India, Senior Manager at Cognizant. She addressed the students and shared valuable insights on industry expectations, professional ethics, and the importance of developing both technical and soft skills from the very beginning of their engineering education. Her interaction provided students with an early industry perspective, motivating them to align their academic efforts with future career aspirations.
In the afternoon, students were taken on a guided campus tour to familiarize themselves with key facilities. The tour included visits to the central library, the Department of Sports, Recreation and Wellness (DSRW), and the mess (dining hall). This orientation was designed to help students confidently navigate the campus and understand the academic and co-curricular resources available to them from their first day.
The second day of Aagman 2025 was dedicated to familiarizing newly admitted students with the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) and various campus cells. The session provided an overview of the structure, functions, and responsibilities of the SRC, along with introductions to cultural clubs, technical societies, and professional bodies active on campus
Students actively interacted with SRC leaders to understand how student governance functions and how they can contribute to campus development through participation and leadership.
The session was further enriched by the presence of distinguished alumni, Prathmesh Yadav and Palash Chandel (Batch 2021–25). They shared their academic journeys, campus experiences, and insights into leadership roles, internships, placements, and co-curricular engagement. The third day of Aagman 2025 was dedicated to fostering curiosity, research orientation, and innovative thinking among newly admitted students. Students were introduced to concepts including data flow mechanisms, embedded hardware integration, cloud connectivity, and automation systems, providing them with a foundational understanding of modern technological ecosystems.
The program featured insightful sessions by eminent experts including Dr. Akhil Gupta and Dr. Giridhar Urkude, who emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary research and practical problem-solving.
The highlight of the day was an expert address by Dr. Sankalp Singh – Head, Synopsys Academics and Research Alliances (SARA). The sixth day of Aagman 2025 featured an engaging Digital Poster Competition, conducted by Dr. Parul Dubey, SIT Nagpur. The session was designed to provide students with a platform to creatively express their ideas using digital tools and modern design techniques.
A surprise theme was announced at the beginning of the session, challenging participants to think critically and respond innovatively within a limited timeframe. Students designed and submitted their posters online, showcasing their creativity, conceptual clarity, technical skills, and visual storytelling abilities.
The activity fostered innovation, originality, and healthy competition in a dynamic and interactive environment. It also helped students understand the importance of clear visual communication in presenting technical and social ideas effectively.
The seventh day of Aagman 2025 was dedicated to experiential learning beyond the classroom. Students visited prominent social and cultural institutions including Mundle Blind School, The Central Museum, and Shivshakti Academy, Nagpur.
During the visit to Mundle Blind School, students interacted with visually challenged learners and gained insights into inclusive education and the importance of empathy in social development. At The Central Museum, Nagpur, they explored the region’s historical artifacts and cultural heritage, enhancing their understanding of local history and traditions. The visit to Shivshakti Academy, Nagpur provided exposure to discipline, physical training, and value-based development.
Through meaningful interactions with educators, social workers, and community leaders, students learned valuable life lessons that extended beyond academic knowledge. The experience nurtured compassion, inclusiveness, and a strong sense of social responsibility, reinforcing the role of engineers as socially conscious citizens.
The eighth day of Aagman 2025 focused on mental wellness and holistic personality development. The session was conducted by Drishti Chug, Psychologist, SIU Nagpur Campus, who addressed important aspects of stress management, emotional intelligence, self-care practices, and resilience building. She created a safe and supportive environment where students could openly discuss mental health concerns, academic pressure, and adjustment challenges during the transition to university life.
The program also featured Darshita Vora, Yoga Instructor, Limitless Fitness & Multiverse Studio (Freelancer), who guided students through yoga and mindfulness techniques aimed at enhancing concentration, emotional balance, and physical well-being. Her interactive session emphasized the importance of maintaining mental clarity and inner stability alongside academic excellence.
In addition, students were sensitized to professional grooming, etiquette, communication style, and personal presentation, helping them understand the importance of balancing academic rigor with personal wellness and professional conduct.
